Effective immediately the Board of Directors of SmartPlug Systems LLC (dba SmartPlug) has appointed John C. Greenwood as its new Chief Executive Officer to accelerate growth in current and expanded market segments. SmartPlug, based in Seattle, WA, USA is a leading manufacturer of innovative safety-centric power delivery products for the Marine, RVs, specialty vehicles and Industrial applications worldwide.
In his new position, John will lead efforts in market expansion, product development, partner collaboration and development, along with global day-to-day operations. He is stepping into a position vacated by longtime SmartPlug President/CEO Tony Barber, who recently retired. George Conniff, Chairman and cofounder said “the board is very pleased to have someone with John’s experience and leadership skills seamlessly transition from Tony; we are confident John will take full advantage of the rapidly expanding opportunities in the power connectivity sectors in marine, RV, and Industrial markets.”
John brings decades of building and growing disruptive technologies and solutions to the SmartPlug Team as they prepare for the next stages of growth. He has led companies in Manufacturing, Power Delivery, Smart Cities, Renewables, Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, Sports Marketing, Investment Banking, and Marketing Services. He has held Leadership roles at Panasonic, MasTec, AEG, Sign Language XL, Proxy Partners and others. John also holds a patent for direct texture print production.
