For many RVers, the season is just beginning and it\u2019s the perfect time to do a routine check on your camper. Before you head out, be sure to follow along with this handy checklist to avoid problems on the road:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Do A Safety Check\u2013<\/strong> Do you have smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, LP gas detectors, fire extinguishers and a first aid kit on board? These are all essential to a safe adventure.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check Fluids \u2013<\/strong> It\u2019s important to check all fluids on board. If levels are low, this may indicate a problem or leak.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Flush Your Water System\u2013<\/strong> De-winterize your system by flushing out the water tanks and sanitizing them. Be sure to check for leaks before you refill.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check Your Electrical Connection\u2013<\/strong> If your shore power connector shows signs of rust, melting or burning, it\u2019s time for an update. SmartPlug is the safe, simple and secure choice of updating your electrical connection.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Inspect your Appliances\u2013<\/strong> If you use propane to run your appliances, it\u2019s important to conduct a leak test and gas pressure text to ensure your system is operating safely. Also, propane does expire so make sure to check the expiration date on your tanks too.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check Tires\u2013<\/strong> Check the air pressure and look for signs of tread wear and cracking. The last thing you need when you hit the road is a blowout.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Inspect Seams &amp; Seals\u2013<\/strong> Inspect your camper for any signs of cracks, openings, separations or signs of damage. If you notice any problems, you may need to seal or resurface.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check Batteries\u2013<\/strong> Batteries lose energy during storage. Ensure your batteries are fully charged and have the correct water levels to avoid problems in the future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Don\u2019t leave your safety to chance.
